Still Keeping Up?

How are you doing with LOAD218? Are you still managing to create a layout every day? With my daily videos I’ve been able to share little bits of what I love about the LOAD process, but you want to know my favourite thing about LOAD?

There are no rules!!

Well, I mean there are … but there aren’t. If you know what I mean.

If you want to create a layout every day and upload it to the Flickr gallery in the time allotted, then you are in for a finishers prize. BUT … and I can’t stress this enough … if you only do one layout in the month because that’s all you could fit in, then you’re also a winner. Because you got one more story told and in your albums than you would have if you hadn’t been doing LOAD.

Right?! Celebrate those small victories as hard as you celebrate the big ones!

That being said, I am celebrating the fact that we are at Day 22 and I have completed 22 layouts and 22 videos (actually 23 because I did two on Day 15)! Woot! Woot! Want to see my latest? As if you have a choice!

Day 18 – What’s the Password

There are certain designers who relish fussy cutting and paper piecing. I am not one of those designers! But I am pleased with the final layout here and glad I tried something different.

Day 19 – UP!

Also in the vein of trying something different, a very linear and clean layout for once. I love it! I will have to remember how much I love this layout and create more like it in the future.

Day 20 – The Leaky Cauldron

Combining harlequin diamonds with suitcases … who knew it would work so well? And that chipboard frame has been calling out to be put to use for ages so I’m glad I finally got it onto a layout.

Day 21 – Take It In

Lesson here is, rushing through something is never the answer. I am so happy I took a few moments today to take a second look at this layout. The changes I made are minor but make me majorly happy!

Since there was only a close up in the video of the full double page, here are each side for you to look at in detail.

Day 22 – Home Away From Home

Sometimes we hang onto a piece of paper or a package of embellishments for “the perfect photos” that never get taken. Sometimes we are hanging onto something for a specific set of photos but we never get to them in our mountain of unfinished projects. Making this layout today with these two pieces of patterned paper was so satisfying! Finally using this owl paper that I’ve been saving for this album … Magic!

Okay everyone, only 6 more days to go. You can do it!! I can see the finish line ahead!! Even though I admit to feeling a bit tired, I am determined to stay strong and stick with my plan of one layout and process video a day! Thank you for all your sweet comments on Flickr and YouTube. They make my day!

Have a great weekend. I think my next LOAD post will be on the 28th with the last layouts of the month. Until then, scrap on friends!
