Welcome to a Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop!
You may be arriving from Majken’s blog but if not don’t worry, there is a link at the end of this post that you can follow to get to the next stop on the Blog Hop. Eventually you’ll make your way back to Majken!
Today I am scrapping two things from my stash … well, specifically two things but more items found their way onto my cards! The first was several to-go style coffee cups from a piece of patterned paper from Shimelle’s True Stories line from American Crafts. I’d fussy cut them ages ago with the intent of creating cards or gift card holders but … they just sat on my desk waiting. It happens! Then I picked up her Starshine 6×6 paper pad on sale and decided it was time to get those cups onto cards!
Here’s what I came up with.
I felt my ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ stamp was a good match for these coffee cups so most of the cards have this stamped on them. I also had a few other coffee themed stamps from old Gossamer Blue kits so it was fun to use those too.
This one got additional dressing up from some stamped sequins and Gold Lame Color Shine.
Die cutting a large circle added variety to my card designs. The die cut that ‘wake up & be awesome’ is stamped on is one I fussy cut from one of the 6×6 papers in the pad.
For this one I used a doily instead of a die cut circle and since it was feeling so soft and feminine, I added the die cut word ‘lovely’ as well.
I actually die cut it twice out of two shades of pink card stock and then slightly offset them when I glued them together.
For this one I embraced the flowers on the cup and fussy cut more flowers from one of the 12×12 Starshine papers. I still had a True Stories sticker book containing flowers that exactly matched those on the cup so I added them for a final touch.
This time I decided two cups were better than one! Inside I stamped the ‘wake up & be awesome’ sentiment.
Not to waste anything, I used the negative space that I got from die cutting a circle as a place for stamping my sentiment. More fussy cut flowers add much needed colour and interest. Dots of Liquid Pearls finish it off nicely.
This time I embossed the sentiment for a different look. Some fabric flowers from my stash add just the right accent for this card.
More embossing, this time in gold. Splatters of Gold Lame Color Shine mimic the stars in the patterned paper.
There you have it, eight fun cards to give to friends who need a boost, a laugh, or a pick me up.
Now you’re off to Wendi’s blog where you can continue to hop along and be inspired by how we are digging into and using our stash!
