Nom, Nom, Nom!

Make it Monday - pinkWelcome to another Make It Monday!

You may be arriving here from Alice’s site where she is showing you how to have fun scrapbooking your breakfast!

It’s just a short blog circle today. Many of our usual contributors were heavily involved in Lain Ehman’s True Scrap PlannerLove over the weekend and are taking a well deserved break today!

As for me, I had some fun this week. It’s important to remember to have fun with your scrapbooking, right? It shouldn’t be all serious love stories to our kids – although there is definitely room for that too! Today I chose to tell the story of a funny little incident that happened when our children were away for a week at their grandparents.

Hello Happy Hour by Alison Day Designs

One night we brought out the chips and salsa to have an appetizer with our sangria. Well, the appetizer ended up being our dinner.

As a parent, I’d never serve that for dinner to the kids (although I have been known to make nachos once in a blue moon) but … when the kids are away the parents will play, right?

I am having fun with my September Gossamer Blue kit – see the reveal video here. This mosaic paper from Pink Fresh Studio seemed like the perfect backdrop for a fun page. I layered up several mats under my square photos, and centred everything under a super fun title.

I used two of the word shapes from the package from Crate Paper and paired them with some of the matching chipboard alphabets also from Crate Paper’s Wonder Collection. Kind of perfect, don’t you think?

Since this layout was all about having fun, I layered things up as much as I could. Stickers, stamps and pieces from the exclusive print and cut sheets included in the kit each month. Oh, and some of the sequins that were in the kit too. Because every layout needs a bit of bling, you know!

Some of the fussy cut pieces were from previous months sheets and that asterisk stamp is from an older Amy Tangerine set.

Okay, now you can head on to Melissa’s site where she is showing you how to create chevron paper. Sounds really cool!

Well thanks for joining us today! Hope we’ve given you some inspiration that you can take to create your own projects with.

Have a wonderful week everyone!
