No Photo? No Problem!

Have you ever run into the problem of wanting to scrapbook a story but not having a photo to go along with it? What have you done? Left it?

I’d like to challenge you to create a layout, despite not having photos.

Want an example?

Life & TV Today by Alison Day Designs

This was another of the Paper Issues challenges from March – this time to use words, letter stickers, etc. Basically making the written word rather than photos the main focus of the page. As I was digging through an old Gossamer Blue kit I came across this October Afternoon paper with channel listings on it. I was suddenly inspired to make a layout documenting our current TV watching habits.

No photos required!

My title is made up of word die cuts and an ampersand from the Simple Stories Life Documented Bits and Pieces die cut package, and letter stickers from Pebbles. Since the layout is very colourful already, the mixed up aspect of the title fits right in!

I used days of the week tabs and label stickers (also in the Bits and Pieces pack) to document our favourite shows and which days they run. Our PVR is pretty busy some days!

To finish the layout I added some October Afternoon die cut word balloons, some that I fussy cut from the exclusive downloadable printable sheet we receive each month, a couple bits of Simple Stories washi tape, and enamel dots in all different sizes.

So you see, a layout with NO PHOTOS is totally doable! Why not try one today?

What a cool idea for a layout!!! Our TV watching habits have changed drastically from two moves ago – we were had free cable for a bit in 100 Mile House, and it caused nothing but fights. Got rid of cable, got Netflix instead, and it’s a lot more peaceful. I do miss some of my old shows, and I find I don’t really know what’s going on in the world today, but I also get more reading done, so it’s a bit of a toss up!

Still trying to convince Greg to get Netflix but he’s convinced we’d miss the cable. Personally, I’d like to watch less TV. I find it’s something that Greg and I do to “spend time together” but then we’re usually also on our devices. Not much connection there!
