Well, the holiday weekend is officially over around here. The last guests have gone home and soon my kids will be going to be bed … hopefully a bit early as it’s been a busy weekend for all of us!
Now I can share a layout I created so that I could play along with Team B over at Let’s Get Sketchy …
Well, that took longer than expected. I did indeed start this post late Monday night but … it’s now Thursday and I’m finally getting to it!
Monday was Team B’s turn to play with the weekly sketch but I decided to play along too. Here’s the sketch and my interpretation of it.
This page is a bit more “chaotic” than I’ve been making lately but the subject matter can definitely handle chaotic!
For the middle page element I got the idea of using a piece of patterned paper from The Pier collection (Crate Paper) which is this really fun giant rainbow chevron. (I used it before here – scroll down to the second layout.) I cut a strip about 3″ wide and then cut out each individual chevron. When I glued it back together on my page I left a tiny margin between each colour and popped up the two narrow strips for some added interest. Love how it looks!
For my title I wanted fun bright colours so got out all my half used foam Thickers and pasted together a title with whatever colour letters I could find! LOL! #usinguptheleftovers!
My journaling ended up being about my youngest daughter since I realized she was in two of the photos with two different people.
The embellishments are a mixture of new (to me) product and stash busting product. Little clusters like this are great for using up that stash!
Oh, last shot is of the popped up chevron … in case you’re interested in that type of thing. LOL!
Okay, there you have it. Have you played along yet? Can’t wait to see what you come up with. You can link up your layout here. Enjoy your week everyone!
