Welcome to another Make it Monday!
Second week in a row – can I get a woot! woot! (Okay, it’s only the second week in a row but hey, I’ll take any small victory I can get at the moment!)
Today I have a quick card share. These are the cards I made for my daughter’s dance teachers this year. It’s been quite a year so each teacher also got a bottle of wine. I think they needed it!
First up, for my ballerina’s:
Simple and elegant is how I think of ballet so I wanted my card to reflect that. I used a cut file from my Silhouette library and stamped the sentiment using letter stamps. Sorry, I have no idea where those letter stamps came from as the packaging has long gone. I added a large pearl to the shoes as they felt like they could use a bit of decoration.
And then for my musical theatre girl:
I created the mask cut file on my Silhouette and added tiny black ribbon bows to dress it up. It needed some glitter though so I added splatters of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Gold Lame. I also used the wand tip to fill the tear cut out with gold too. Love how it turned out.
My daughter had an amazing teacher this year so I wanted to make the sentiment very personal to her. This led to the “you’re pretty fantastic” sentiment and also the glasses. Not because she wears them (although I think she does) but because the number that class performed at the year end show was titled “When You’re a Wimp” and they all needed prop “nerd” glasses. How often do you get to actually USE the glasses stamp from a stamp set? Well, I remembered I had received one in one of my Simon Says Stamp card kits so I dug it out. Aweome, no?
According to my daughter the teacher loved the card! Brownie points for me!!
That’s all for me today but if you are looking for more Monday reading, my friend Carole has a post about Vectortube Scripts over at her site. I have no idea what those are but they sound interesting! If you are a digi scrapper, or hybrid, or just like to play with photo editing software, Scrapbook Campus has many great resources you should check out. Oh, and how cute is the little guy on their home page?!
Have a great Monday. Hope it’s the start of a good, crafty week.
Cheers!
