Hooked you with that title, didn’t I? 🙂
I am actually referring to the last of the Summer Free-For-All cut files and printable journaling cards available from Amanda Robinson Studios this week.
I had the privilege of working with this fun cut file by Jen Ritchie and created this colourful layout about my youngest daughter’s preschool graduation.
I used my July Gossamer Blue kit for this too. The colours and fun alphas really suited a layout about a school career highlight in her life.
Can you keep a secret? Under this cleverly layered (if I may say so myself) little embellishment lies a doozy!
Gasp!
When my Silhouette starting making its cuts this happened. I’m not sure if the blade jammed, the paper moved or a combination of both but I managed to stop it before the whole sheet of paper was ruined. To say this required an emergency re-think of my layout is a bit of an understatement!
But there are no mistakes in Scrapbooking, only opportunities for embellishment. Am I right?!
The letter stickers spelling out ‘next stop’ are not from the July kit but an older kit. Or my stash. Kind of the same thing now though! 🙂
Oh, and the red cameras you see here and in the photo above (hiding the holes in my paper!) are from the printable sheet we are able to download each month. I cut the strip in two to be able to bring all of the same elements that are up in the corner to the rest of the layout.
Another item from the printable sheet, popped up with foam squares to give dimension.
I cut the letter ‘c’ from the strip of alphabet paper as that is my daughter’s initial.
As for the colourful triangles themselves, I simply cut rough triangles out of two of the patterns already used on the layout and backed each triangle.
Okay, head over to the Amanda Robinson Studios blog and download these FREE files. I would love to see what you create with it so link it up to my Facebook page or the Amanda Robinson Facebook page. That goes for all the free cut files and journaling cards we’ve been sharing this week. I’d just love to see your work!
Have a great weekend everyone.
