Summer Scrappin’ Video Series

Happy Monday!

I am so pleased to be participating in a video scrapbooking series hosted by an old DT friend of mine, Audrey Yeager. She put a call out into one of my Facebook groups and I was more than happy to help her.

She is posting 21 layouts over the course of June, July and August. That’s 21 inspirational ideas to help you scrap your summertime photos! And that’s just from her. She’s got special guests helping her each day so that makes 42 inspirational ideas! But wait, there’s more! Some days (like today) she’s got a couple special guests. Now how many inspirational ideas are there?

Enough to keep you scrapping all summer!

Today is Day 2 of the series and I am guest #2 and here is my video.

Full confession: I’ve been making so many cards lately that my layout muscles are a tiny bit rusty. It took me awhile to get my groove on for this layout!

Has that every happened to you? Everything just seems so hard? Where should this paper go? What colour mat should I use? What embellishments?

I am pleased with the end result but it took me a bit longer than usual and just seemed … like I was scrapping in slow motion or something. I think it’s a sign that I must remember to scrapbook more!

Here are the close up shots.

As I mention in the video, this is also for the June Free File Free-For-All challenge in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook Group. I didn’t enter a single challenge last month which I think needs to change for June! I love their challenges and they have the cutest free cut files in their shop. For this layout I used two – Sweet Summer Treats and Sweet Summertime (mostly so I could get the exact title I wanted).

Fun photos like these don’t require a ton of journaling in my book. There are other photos from this day, this event, and this park so I can cover those details on another layout. Here I can just talk about how much my aunt enjoyed spending time with my girls, her great-nieces!

Isn’t that cone the cutest? I was second guessing the blue card stock for a bit but now I love it! It really pops against the lighter blue.

This title was made up from words in the two cut files. The ‘you’ was originally ‘you’re’ but I didn’t need the ‘re’ so it got chopped off right away. Don’t be afraid to alter purchased cut files to fit your layout!

Okay, that’s it for today. Be sure to check out Audrey’s YouTube channel to see her layout today as well as her other guest – Sara Scraps. All link are in the description on my YouTube video as well as just below. Have an awesome week and have fun scrapping (and making) summer memories!

Cheers!
