Welcome to the Christmas In July Blog Hop for Scrapbook Bundles!
You should have arrived here from Cara Vincens’ site where she is showing how to actually SEND those Christmas cards this year.
We are celebrating the flash sale of our very successful Creative Christmas Bundle by sharing with you how we are using the products within it.
I created date card cut files intended for use in a pocket-style December Daily album.
Somehow, even though I had these all cut out and ready to go, my album did not get done. December is a crazy busy time and this project got shelved for a “quieter time”. Not sure what that looks like to be honest! But with this blog hop on the horizon I needed to pull it off the shelf and get ‘er done!
Without further ado I present …
This is the cover. Kept very simple with only a cut down Simple Stories pocket card layered on a couple pieces of patterned paper and embellished with enamel dots and some Gold Lame Heidi Swapp Color Shine spray.
My Title Page is also kept very simple. I used a section from one of the Simple Stories 12″x12″ patterned papers, added a title and some enamel stars. Really, there’s no need to get too fancy – especially when the goal is to finish!
Now I’m just going to share the pages with you – little to no commentary. As with all my projects I do my best to keep the photos and story front and centre. You’ll see this throughout the album as I keep embellishments to a minimum. And no, it wasn’t solely to ensure I finished in time for this hop!
On some days there wasn’t much of a story to tell so I didn’t feel the need to stick to my original one day per spread idea. Here Day 5 starts on the right hand side and continues on to the next spread. That’s the great thing about this type of album – it’s so easy to customize it as you need to!
Here again I combined two days onto one layout. But you’ll see that they are not consecutive days. I had no photos from December 10th and no notion of what we may or may not have done so I just skipped it. Again, my album, my call!
This is still from December 14th but clearly these photos were taken earlier in the day than the ones at the Nutcracker. I felt the story of the 14th was going to see my daughter’s best friend dance in the Nutcracker, but there were so many more photos taken on that day that I just added them after the fact. Adding a large journaling card helps explain the time hop to the reader. Also, there’s no Day 15 so this spread could act like a Day 15. In fact, I could have numbered it 15 if I’d been really determined to have each and every date in this album. But to me, it’s more important to have accuracy in when things actually happened than make sure there’s something on each day!
And there you have it, another completed December Daily album!
Phew!
I’m not sure if I’ll do one this year. It always stresses me out as I’m putting it together but I must admit, flipping through it to photograph it, I LOVE it! Sigh. I’m sure I’ll get sucked back in come November. Who knows, maybe I’ll create more cut files for you!
Now you’re off to Jen Funk Weber’s site. Oh, before you head off to Jen’s site, be sure to sign up to receive emails from the Scrapbook Bundles team. Right now we are offering an incredible Holiday Checklist as our thank you for signing up to receive our emails.

I too always want to do a December Daily – I have yet to do one though. December stresses me out and I think I can get it all done and then it never happens. Always inspired by the great examples that I see. If I can get some things done before school starts back up, maybe it could be accomplished. this year. Thanks for the opportunity.
Got lots of great help from last year’s Christmas Bundle, but it was so close to December last year that there wasn’t time to do it all. Christmas in July give me a great head start!
I love seeing December Daily albums, but have never made one myself. I like that you gave yourself “permission” to be flexible with dates and pages. Good job on the album – and I know you will cherish it in years to come!
Alison, this makes my heart so happy! Your DD turned out absolutely adorable, and you’ve re-inspired me to go cut those files and get started on mine. Way to go, girlie!
Good luck to everyone in the drawing!
Your album is great! I really love that chevron cover, too! Thank you for the opportunity to win a bundle!
I have always seen people do December dailies and I have done one yet because I’m intimidated! Seeing yours and hearing about how easy you made it seem I just may try it this year! May I ask where can I get the inserts and album for it?
Hi Christine, I used Simple Stories products. The album and divided page inserts are all from their SNAP line and a lot of the 3×4 and 4×6 cards were from their Christmas line last year. Sorry, can’t remember the name of the line at the moment. The cards with the numbers on them are my own design and can be found in the Christmas in July bundle that’s on sale right now – https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=1436410&c=ib&aff=245056&cl=250713” target=”ejejcsingle.
Good luck with your own album! I’d love to see it if you do one this year!! Send me links please 🙂
