Fun, Fresh, and Flowery

Make it Monday - pink Welcome to Make It Monday for April 4, 2016!

Unless I manage to round up some of my crafty buddies in the next few hours, at the time of writing this there is no blog circle today. It’s just li’l ol’ disorganized me!

But I’ve been playing with my April Simon Says Stamp card kit and I wanted to share what I’ve made so far with you. Did you see my reveal video on YouTube? If not, here it is.

I’ve been super preoccupied with something I can’t talk about yet, so my crafting has been crammed into a few spare minutes here and there this week. I am starting to feel a bit antsy to be honest! My hands get all twitchy when I enter my Scrap Cave! Soon, I’m sure I will have a bit more time but for now, let’s take a look at the three cards I made from this kit.

#1 – Birthday Wishes

Immediately after filming the video above, I went into my stash of Stampin’ Up ink pads to find ones in colours as close to the card stock colours in the kit as I could. With those inks, and the stamp set from the kit, I made my own floral background and then embossed the ‘birthday wishes’ sentiment with the black embossing powder from the kit. This stuff is gorgeous! So glossy!

#2 – Happy Birthday Today

For this one I started off by layering the border punched piece with the floral piece but felt the top of the card needed a little something extra. In the stamp set this month is this quasi border stamp so I stamped that repeatedly across the top and embossed it. The ‘today’ is a sticker from the sticker sheets which I raised up on pop dots. Then I stamped the ‘happy birthday’ solid stamp and embossed it to match the border at the top. The letters didn’t stamp super clearly so I traced over them with a white gel pen and I love the effect!

#3 – Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

This one was all about playing with all the cut apart images and layering as many as I could! I used one of the clips and then added three stickers on pop dots. I haven’t stamped a sentiment inside yet but will probably add a simple ‘happy birthday’ at some point.

So there you have it. Three fun, fresh, and flowery cards all ready for upcoming birthdays.

EDITED TO ADD: I found a buddy! Check out Carole’s site to see the five different ways that you can use their free tire track tubes?

Have a great Monday everyone!
