Phew! What a crazy day! So much for lazing around on my day off. This post is MUCH later than I’d anticipated. Let’s just say that the lesson I learned today was; check your printer ink levels before you print off enough photos for 10 layouts!! Sheesh! In between roasting the beef for dinner and sorting out my kids’ dance outfits for tomorrow, I found myself running down to London Drugs to get more ink. Anyway, ink? … check. Photos? … check. FREEBIE CUT FILE? … check. Layout?
Check!

Today I kept it simple. I went to town with the Heidi Swapp Color Shine mists but that was really my main embellishment. I wanted to recreate the look and feel of the outdoor concert. The light show, the starry sky, and the dusky hues. A pop of hot pink with some Bella Blvd washi tape was all the added colour I decided I needed.
The journaling card with my title on it has tons of room for journaling. I’ve got more to say about this event but I also have more photos so I can save the rest of my story for a future layout. Or two. 🙂
I painted the inner letters with the gold lame Color Shine and then used pop dots to give them even more presence on the page.
My girls were goofing around which is what prompted me to create the tabbed card with the word ‘smile’ on it in the first place. I have a lovely one of them smiling and hugging but this one fit this layout better. Marley wanted to take my picture and it’s not half bad so I decided to include it too. I don’t feature on too many layouts. Perhaps you have the same problem? You’re behind the camera all the time so there are few if any photos of you. Off topic, but this is so wrong! You need to be in your photos, your layouts, your family history! Don’t just write the history. STAR in it too!!
Speaking of stars … a bit of that hot pink washi tape helps these stars pop off the page.
Okay, now it’s your turn. I’d love to see what you make with my cut files. Please leave a link here in the comments or on my Facebook page showing your work. Don’t have access to these files? GO HERE, sign up for my email list and an all access pass will be emailed to you within minutes!
