If you’re a follower of my Facebook page you probably saw that I am one of the contributing designers to Kristine Davidson’s newest sketch book – Creating With Sketches V.3.
This NEW publication has 120 NEW sketches, 60 international designers, and 60 fabulous pages of inspiration for you
This is an ebook that you can print yourself, view it on your ipad or iphone or you can also purchase a printed copy at Creative Scrappers.
Here is my layout – to see the sketch it’s based on you’ll have to buy the ebook!
My colour inspiration came from the colours in my cousin’s wedding. She had a very natural scheme to her decor and I’d chosen several papers with a natural feel to them to scrapbook all the photos I took that day. The back ground paper in this layout looks like hand made paper. It’s gorgeous and thick with a ton of texture to it!
I added drops of Heidi Swapp Gold Lame Colorshine spray and a light blue Studio Calico Mister Huey mist (Audrey) to create visual interest in the background. And then layered my other elements on top once it was dry.
Here are some shots of the details on my page.
Music featured at my cousins wedding as her groom plays the bagpipes so this paper perfect! The burlap flowers from Michael’s had tiny wooden buttons in the centre which didn’t work with my more formal page and topic, so I took them off and replaced them with pearls.
I tried to dig into my stash as much as possible to find all the different papers for my layers. This light blue one from Basic Grey with the subtle circle pattern was perfect for all my journaling. The colour contrast is not high so the writing doesn’t get lost.
It’s always important to include the date on your layouts (at least for me!) so spots like this where I can tuck it in without interfering with my main design are a Godsend!
One of the consistent decor items at my cousins’ wedding were Mason jars so when I saw this little bag of Kraft coloured ones all tied up with string I plopped it into my basket right away.
