As the year comes to a close a lot of people are taking a look back at the year that was. I thought I’d do something similar.
So, here are my top 15 favourite projects from 2015 (in no particular order). To read more about them please click on the image to be taken to the post or Etsy Shop description. Thank you.
1. Marley’s Hawaiian Themed Birthday Party Invitations
A lot of work but so fun to see my vision come to life – and Marley loved them too!
2. @ Eleven
I try to do a layout every year commemorating my daughters birthdays. This was Marley’s.
3. Life & TV Today
Ever had a story to tell but no photo to go with it? You can totally scrapbook it still!
4. Hoop Shoot
Shaped photos aren’t just for your 1990’s scrapbooks anymore!
5. 6 Year Old Birthday Card
This was for my niece and all from scraps! Plus I did a little machine stitching – something I tried for the first time this year. So fun!!
6. You & Me
This layout is one I haven’t shared before on this site. It was created exclusively for my contribution to the (Inter)National Scrapbook Day bundle the gals and I over at Scrapbook Bundles put out this past May. I created a little class on weddings – making simple, coordinating decor pieces and then incorporating them into your layouts about the big day. I am currently working on expanding that course along with a good scrappy friend of mine so stay tuned. We are hoping for a June 2016 release!
I’m sharing it with you today because it’s a pretty good photo of my husband and I! I say, if you get them, scrap them!
7. Making a Run For It
I thought I’d shared this one before but I can’t seem to find it so I guess not.
It’s another one done at the same time as my You & Me above. I got into a groove and scrapped a whole ton of the photos from this day. I love the way the clocks and the gold accents fall from down from the top right. And that water colour paper behind is so beautiful!
8. I am Home
Can’t tell you how much I love using a giant photo on a layout!
9. PB&J For The Hungry Kidz
I’ve made many layouts using this starting point (and all my leftover off-cuts at the end of a kit) but the photo and subject matter make this one stand out.
10. Thanks to the Teachers
This was the card I made for the teachers at the end of last school year. So fun! Love my Silhouette!
11. Fish Bowl Shaker Card
I started subscribing to the Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit club and this was made from the July kit – the first one I ever received from them. I loved the kit so much I pretty much used it all up! This and most of its buddies are in my Etsy Shop still if you’re interested.
12. Simple Thank You Card
Sometimes simple and unadorned can be so stunning! As in the case of this card. It was one of a series I made using some images I’d stamped and coloured in by hand. A relaxing activity in front of the TV or watching process videos on YouTube!
13. Hello You
My middle daughter has this great ethereal look to her that I am able to capture every now and then. When I do, I want to scrap it right away. For this one I channeled my inner Glitter Girl too.
14. Twin Bundles of Joy card
I don’t have a link to send you to for this one. It was a custom commission for a good friend. I did wonder at first how I was going to pull off a new baby card for twins. A boy and a girl! But a quick look through the Silhouette Design Store, a few alterations, a couple of cuts and Voila! I think it turned out even better than I could have imagined which is why it make my Top 15.
15. Happy Father’s Day card
I find it so hard to make cards for men. Please tell me I’m not the only one! This one came from left over embossed paper that I was trying to use up. Pinterest to the rescue here too! There are so many mustache themed fun card and gift ideas! A girl could get lost …
And there you have it. My 15 favourite projects that I’ve made this year. Hope you liked them as much as me!
Can’t wait to see what will come out of this Scrap Cave of mine in 2016!
Happy New Year everyone! Be safe, have fun, scrap the photos!
