Welcome to another Make It Monday here on my blog!
I have been absolutely horrible at getting my fellow Make It Monday blog circle gals organized so I decided to come up with my own graphic for days like today when it’s just me! What do you think? Give me paper and glue and I can come up with something cute 90% of the time but give me pixels and a mouse and … well … let’s just say I’m more of a hands-on kind of gal and leave it at that, shall we?
Moving on …
In my part of the world we are feeling the re-awakening of the world big time. The sun has warmth to it. The trees are turning green again. The grass has been mowed a couple times already. Spring is in full bloom and with it thoughts of summer start to creep in. I know, I know, summer?! But yes, summer!
In honour of that thought, I have made a bright, sunshine yellow card to share with you.
To make the background I simply adhered strips of washi tape onto a scrap bit of card stock that I’d already cut to size. NOTE TO SELF: Be sure the card stock is free of designs on the back. I now see that what I thought would be covered up sufficiently with the washi tape, is showing through. Sigh. Take two!
Yellow and grey are such a classic colour combination that it felt like a no-brainer to add some grey card stock under the stamped sentiment. Both were die cut with some of my nesting dies and I just love the simplicity of it. I stamped another sentiment in the bottom right corner which helps tie in the yellow colour. Final touch were the yellow toned jewels.
It took me all of ten minutes to make I think, but sometimes it’s good to remember that you don’t need to spend hours to achieve a stunning result (if I do say so myself!)
Have a super sunny week everyone! Think it’s supposed to rain most of the week here but with this card sitting on my desk, I can bear the rain!
Love it! I love simple cards, they look fantastic, but coming up with a concept or design I like is the hard part for me. That part can take me hours! I love how you make it seem so simple, though!
Shucks, I’m blushing!
But I totally hear you! Probably why I repeat a design that works over, and over, and over …
