As promised, here’s a look at what I created using my July 2015 kit from Gossamer Blue.
If you missed the reveal video, please go here to view it.
This month I created four layouts – you can see the first one on this post from Monday. Here are the rest.
1. Play Like A Girl
The title came from an ad (can’t remember now what the product was but it was all over Facebook a while back.) As a mother of three girls, anything that celebrates strength in women touches my heart! My eldest daughter actually took these photos of my middle daughter and I think you’ll agree – they are quite good!
I added some Simple Stories chipboard stickers from a past kit, as well as clear stickers and vellum word stickers from two different Amy Tangerine packs. There are a few other odds and ends added from older kits but those are the most obvious additions.
2. Not Your Typical Mother’s Day
The red diagonal striped paper in the background is from my stash. It’s also from Shimelle’s True Stories line (called Berry Infusion) so matches the other True Stories papers on this layout. When I was putting the layout together it seemed to need a frame and while I liked the idea of a red one, the card stock that was included in the kit was too bright of a red. Beside the blue card stock it looked horrible! So I went digging through my recently purchased True Stories items and was happy to find this one.
Additions to this one from previous kits include some Simple Stories I AM brad stickers, shaped paper clips, a tag from Crate Paper, and Elle’s Studio die cuts – currently out of stock at Scrapbook.com but if you hit the ‘notify me’ button they will send you an email if and when these get restocked).
3. This is What Fun Looks Like
This layout was fun to make. Partly because I knew I wanted to make it messy on purpose. The photos are of my youngest daughter playing in the dust of the baseball field while waiting for her older sisters’ field hockey game to be finished. This is fairly typical of my youngest – to get filthy dirty if not watched like a hawk! But, she was happy and not whining so … take the good with the bad, right?!
I started by getting the pristine white card stock dirty with brown and grey Mister Huey mists and then I added brown and grey ink to my edges. Nothing was going to match the “Minion” yellow of her field hockey jersey so I just played up the green instead. When I was going through my older Gossamer Blue stash I did find the bright yellow, acrylic hearts that are a pretty close match to the yellow.
Well there you have it. Three more layouts to add to my collection. If you are interested in getting the Gossamer Blue kit just visit their site here. I am not an affiliate for them and while the product links I’ve provided today are mostly affiliate links to Scrapbook.com (that’s how I support this site), I do highly recommend the Gossamer Blue kits.
Tomorrow I will have my reveal video for the August kit so come back for that.
Have a great Wednesday everyone!
I love all these pages, Alison! My Mother’s Day was, not a bust exactly, but Jason took off early to work all day on a fire, so no breakfast in bed, had to get my own coffee, and had to shop and supervise the girls baking their Mother’s Day treat. I also took all three to the park and out for ice cream. So, pretty good day but not a lot of relaxing!
Your dusty page has inspired me to bring out some sprays and get busy! Hugs, Roxy
So glad I’ve inspired you Roxy!
It’s funny how you have an impression in mind as to how certain things will be and somehow, they’re never quite as good as you imagine. Mother’s Day has always been like that for me. Oh well. Once again our parallel lives show themselves! ❤️
