LOAD514 Prep

We are a little over one week away from the next LOAD (LayOut A Day) challenge and I thought you’d maybe like to see what I’m doing to get ready. Beyond stocking up on photo paper, toner for my printer, and mass amounts of adhesive, I’ve made some purchases recently. You know how much I try to work from my stash but sometimes a girl just needs a few new things, right?

For the past several months I’ve been subscribing to the Gossamer Blue kit club. I have been really happy with the quality and variety of items showing up in my mailbox every month. A lot are not necessarily what I would put into my shopping cart on my own but I’ve forced myself to use them and have been pleased with the pages that have come out of those kits. There was a Paperclipping Roundtable episode recently(ish) that talked about scrapping “on the rails” – i.e. within boundaries. If you are new to creating scrapbooks and not sure where to start or have found yourself feeling a bit stale, this episode is worth a listen. Stacey Julian breaks down HOW we learn in a way that had me nodding my head (I’m sure the other drivers on the road thought I was a little nuts!!) Restricting myself to using only what has been sent to me in the kit each month is my version of scrapping on the rails and I highly recommend trying it out!

Here is a little video I shot to share with you the April 2014 kit plus all the add-ons and extras I purchased this month. Enjoy!

Thanks for watching. Be sure to come back to see how I turn all those gorgeous supplies into meaningful layouts!!
