Easy Valentine’s Day Gift

Do you remember when you were little and you had no money to buy presents for your Mum or Dad so you’d make them a coupon book? It usually had things in it like “clean my room”, “put away the dishes”, or “wash the car”. Well, I’ve got a fun project for you to make for your kids this Valentine’s Day that hearkens back to those books.

At the bottom of this post is a link to a PDF that you can download and print off to make your own books. I’ve also included the PNG image files if you’re digi-adept and like to customize your own projects. I’ve filled in several of the coupons with things my children like to receive and there is a page of blank coupons that you can print off as many times as you need to and fill in with your own ideas.

To make the booklet, I simply took a piece of Valentine’s themed paper and cut it into a 12 x 3.25″ strip (the coupons print off at about 6 x 3″). Making sure my pattern ran horizontally. I then folded that 12″ strip in half, tucked all the coupons into the fold and stapled them in place. Easy peasey!

For decoration I added washi tape over the staples (to protect little fingers from those staples), and then added my letter stickers to spell out “love coupons”. My paper had tiny hearts all over it, so I highlighted a few with some Liquid Pearls and called it a day.

Your embellishment can be this simple, or as detailed and fancy as you prefer. I am a firm believer in making projects your own so please, go nuts!

Have fun making and giving these coupons to your loved ones!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
