Double Page Layout for Practical Scrappers

Ooops, forgot to get this up earlier! Better late than never though, right?

Ever have one of those days where you just really want to crawl back into bed? That was today. I was SO tired! Even checking my email seemed to exhausting. It’s now almost 8PM and I am finally feeling a tiny bit of energy. Just in time for bed time!! 🙂

But I digress (and whine and that’s not the type of wine I enjoy!!) Today over at Practical Scrappers, our new and improved Specialty Team (check out all our designers – new and old-  here) is sharing what can be done when you double your pleasure, double your fun (you’ll be singing that later!) We all created a double page layout for you. Here’s mine …

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to go on a Ladies Weekend with some of my lovely neighbours (have I said how much I love my neighbourhood? Seriously, THE BEST EVER!!) My across-the-street neighbour owns a cottage just across the border from Osoyoos in Oroville, USA so that’s where we headed. I knew I wanted to use the photos taken on the weekend for my double page so here they are.

This is the left side. I found some older travel themed papers in my stash and combined them with some newer map print Thickers and garland. Genius if I do say so myself!IMG_8818

And the right side of the layout. I used a pocket and tag from Pebbles for my journaling (they are on super cheap at Two Peas right now – just click on my Two Peas link in the side bar to go shopping in the clearance section yourself!!) The expanse of green was too big so I cut a tag out of the same Amy Tangerine paper paper I used on the other page, added some jute and layered a sticker from “that sheet” (see here and then you’ll understand) to complete the grouping. Well, actually, the enamel dots finished the grouping!

And now for some close up shots of the details.

These mist splatters may look a bit thicker than normal. I’ll let you in on a little secret … I mixed some white acrylic paint in with one of my Mister Huey’s awhile back and it gives a nice solid droplet as opposed to the usual flat, more water colour drops. Try it if your favourite white mist is running out! Let me know what you think of it!

I have this really old booklet of sticker quotes “for girls” in my stash so I pulled out a couple that were appropriate for our weekend and popped them up with foam adhesive. I’m not sure if you can read this one. It says “carefree: having no worries or responsibilities”. That pretty much summed up my weekend! Ahhhh!

I added the garland in two places – here in the corner …

… and here below the photos on the right hand page. You can also see the other sticker I used here.

In the same cut file as the tag was this little geotag with a heart in it. I thought it would be a cute addition above the ‘i’ in Oroville. Plus it allowed me to bring in more of that pink Amy Tangerine paper.

Well, there you have it. I have more photos from the weekend to scrap so look for more layouts from me soon. Enjoy what’s left of your Wednesday everyone. I plan to hang out with my husband and watch some So You Think You Can Dance auditions. LOVE that show! It’s our summer must watch!

Do you have a summer must-watch? What is it?
