That cheeky little smile get’s me every time!
Do you have an Elf on the Shelf? It may be a parent’s worst nightmare (ever wake up at 3:00AM wondering if you remembered to move it?) but my children absolutely love ours. Sometimes a little too much! We’ve had to take measures to stop them covering her in ‘presents’ – if you can call an entire sheet of snowflake stickers presents!
But she does bring joy to my daughter’s faces and, as I was reminded the other night, that’s why we do what we do. All the effort we as parents put into making December as magical as it can be, is completely, 100% thank-less, and perhaps a bit too stressful at times, but when you see those little faces light up in the morning because the Elf has rolled down the stairs in a toilet paper roll, or they’ve just pulled a note out of the advent calendar which promises a baking day, it makes it all worth it. Really.
At least, that’s what I tell myself! LOL!
So let me show you how I take this sketch and tell the story of our Elf on the Shelf.
Maybe you don’t have an Elf (aren’t you smart!) but I’m sure there are plenty of other fun traditions you do that you haven’t scrapbooked yet. Do you have a special Christmas Eve tradition? Reindeer feed or a particular treat you leave out for Santa? Maybe there’s a particular tree farm that you go to or you always get a your dog a Christmas hair cut? This sketch has lots of room for journaling and would be great to tell one of those stories.
EDITED TO ADD: I completely forgot to add a link to the bonus I prepared for you. It’s a PDF of some journaling cards I designed. You can print off onto card stock and then use them on any of the layouts in this class. There’s one that has Elf feet on it that would perfect for any Elf on the Shelf layouts you may be making! Enjoy!
Oh, and if you are one of those magical, illusive, creatures called a “caught up scrapbooker” please, talk amongst yourselves! Seriously! Share your secrets!!
Don’t forget to share a link to any pages you make in the comments below or over on my Facebook page. We’d all love to see your work and read your stories!
Happy Scrapping!
