Welcome to another Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop featuring many familiar Practical Scrappers faces. It’s been a couple months since I participated, but this post has been sitting in my draft folder in a half finished state for weeks so it was time to ‘get ‘er done’!
Today I’m sharing the April Scrapbook Kit from Gossamer Blue and the layouts I’ve made with it.
As you can see in this video, I splurged and bought 3 add-on kits this month. Some months the add-ons are just too hard to resist!
I still have a lot left over but it’s a new month and my new kit arrived (check out my YouTube channel for the reveal video soon) so it’s time to move on. I am going away on a scrapbook retreat at the end of June with the intention of taking only my unused, half used, and mostly used Gossamer blue kits with me. Hopefully I will come back from that with many more finished layouts, stories told and stash used up!
For now though, let me share the three layouts I made last month (not the most prolific scrapper at the moment!)
Layout #1 – I Am Home
Sometimes the inspiration for a layout comes from an unexpected place. I was chatting on Facebook with some scrappy peeps and the topic turned to men in kilts (hubba hubba, am I right?) which made me think of my recent trip back home to Scotland. A photo like this one just needs to be as large as possible! Cutting it up came from the need to follow a sketch for a challenge but it works and I love it!
Layout #2 – Six Already
I just knew this gorgeous quilt inspired patterned paper was perfect for a layout about my youngest turning six. She even has a blanket that she loves to cuddle in that same minty green colour!
Layout #3 – Ready Set Go
I am not making as many double page layouts as I used to but the photos from Easter needed a bigger canvas than a 12×12 would offer. In the kit was one of the background card stock pieces (can’t remember which one anymore) so I went digging into my draw where I put all the bits leftover from past kits, and found a close colour match. I am totally okay with the two tones of blue for my background but if that’s something that would drive you nuts then you can easily substitute plain white or something else from your stash that matches.
Well, there you have it. Three layouts from all that goodness I showed in the video! Yikes! I have a lot more to do! I seem to be in a season in my life that is not allowing for much scrapbooking. While I am sad about this, I know it will pass and I will get back to telling my stories again. Hope you bear with me in the meantime!!

Such wonderful inspiration!
Love all of these layouts! Great job using up the kits. Keep it going!
HI im loving the double layout! x
These are three really wonderful layouts! I love the colors and the stories are priceless! Great job getting them recorded! May is always nutty for me with all the school field trips, events and then making gifts for the staff at my son’s school, so I didn’t even come close to scrapping this much.
Thanks so much for sharing!
wonderful layouts. I like that quilt paper.
