Aug 31 – EDITED TO ADD:

WINNER, WINNER! Thanks to all who left such nice comments over the weekend. I’m so glad you liked the wood veneer frame idea!

I very carefully scoured my email sign up list and Facebook Fan Page Like list and could only find one person who left and comment on the post AND was on the other two lists so …

drum roll please …

Roxy you are the winner of the Kelly Purkey wood veneer!

Congratulations!! Thanks for being such a loyal fan for so long! I’m super excited to ship your prize to you.

Have an awesome week everyone!

Today I am continuing with my personal challenge to use up my stash of wood veneer from various Gossamer Blue kits. Please see Part I here.

I have continued to use my wood veneer pieces by adding a few to layouts I’ve been making from the August Gossamer Blue Kit. But I wanted to see if I could use them in a way that would make a pretty big impact. Both on my page and on my stash of wood veneer.

So I decided to make a single photo layout but bring huge focus – and therefore importance – to that photo by surrounding it with a frame.

Snapshots by Alison Day Designs

We don’t often get all five of us in a photo so I figured it was special enough to deserve a special treatment.

Here’s a close up of the frame.

As you can see I’ve used all sorts of wood veneer pieces to make up this frame. I think it adds a certain element of fun to it! I also added stamping (using stamps from the August and July Gossamer Blue kits) as well as some of the enamel shapes from the August kit.

The wood wasn’t the easiest to write on but that larger label shaped piece worked for a short bit of journaling.

I’ve still got quite a bit left so stay tuned for more shares next weekend. I think I may try misting some and see what happens!

Okay, now for the giveaway! How’d you like to add this to your stash?

This Kelly Purkey set of wood veneers is awesome, but I’m going to pass since I’m in a de-stashing state of mind right now.

I think I gasped aloud when I saw your page! So gorgeous, love the idea of adding a whole bunch of wood veneer at once, and yes, it does make a big impact!!! I’ve tried misting my wood veneer, and Dylusions works really well – nice and bright!
