Happy Saturday and (in case you hadn’t heard yet) Happy (Inter)National Scrapbooking Day! Did you know there was a national (or international if you live outside the US like me) day to celebrate our little obsession called Scrapbooking? Well, there is and now you know! If you are so inclined, there are a TON of online crops and challenges going on plus plenty of talented scrappers sharing their best tips for free out there. For example, Shimelle Lain already has more posts and challenges up on her blog than I could ever hope to participate in (but she’s running on UK time so she’s got a jump start on the party!) Today at S.W.A.T we are also having some fun. We’re using a Scrappy Tic-Tac-Toe board to jump start our inspiration. Here’s the board.
Can you see a line of three that you’d want to play with? Can you guess which ones I used to create this?
I used the diagonal line that includes “use 3 buttons, use ribbon, and use chipboard”. I do admit to taking a few liberties with the “ribbon” prompt though. More on that in a bit. First I wanted to comment on the fact that I used these exact pictures just yesterday in this layout. Um … whoops! I thought I’d scrapped them but I still had the pictures on my desk (guess I printed two copies) so just went with it. In my defense, she is cute enough to warrant a double scrapping!!
Okay, about the ribbon thing. I am counting as ribbon this ribbon flag on the embellishment in the picture above. Don’t think that ribbon HAS to be of the fabric variety! This ribbon banner as well as the silver glitter banner strip under the photos mimic the look of fabric ribbon which counts in my book!
