Hello Saturday! Hello blank Saturday!!
Seriously, we have nothing on the books for today. Say what?! What is this weirdness? LOL!
I guess I have permission to hide all day in my Scrap Cave, right?
No matter what happens, I hope to carve some time to continue with my Harry Potter Studio Tour upgrade albums. I was inspired by my recent layout reorganization and album revisiting to return to these books. I had so much fun in February creating layout after layout documenting our wonderful day at the Warner Bros Studios outside London last summer (see all my February LOAD videos here and layout photos here) but the albums have languished since then as I moved onto other projects. It felt good to dust off the supplies and photos and scrapbook a little magic!
Take a look …
Here is another look at the sketch for the Paper Issues Keep It Sketchy challenge for June.
And my layout.
Certain changes needed to be made because I used two portrait photos in place of the one landscape photo in the sketch but on the whole I think I met the challenge. I talked at the end of the video about feeling the need for more white space on my layouts these days and how I’m not sure I completely achieved that here. Definitely not! LOL! Which isn’t to say that I’m unhappy with this – I’m not! It’s fun and colourful and completely reflects the Over The Top nature of specifically this candy trolley, and generally the feel of the tour and my album. In fact, I am working on another layout right now that is also full of colour and pattern.
Sigh. Perhaps I just can’t do minimalist?
Don’t worry, I know I can, just perhaps not in this album. But it does bring up a good question – what do you do when you feel tired of your regular style but can’t seem to break free? Let me know in the comments.
And have a wonderful weekend – however busy or free it may be for you!
