Enough

Make it Monday - pinkAh Monday.

The kids went back to school today. Yippee! I am constantly grateful that my girls love school. They love it so much they look forward to the holidays being over so they can go back. Today was made extra special for them as we got about a millimetre of snow last night. Any form of the white stuff is reason to celebrate around here!

Well, for the kids anyway. I’m totally okay with green lawns all winter!

Monday also means Make It Monday … or at least it should. That is one of my goals for 2016 – to get back to regular blogging. Hopefully by next week I’ll even have coordinated a Blog Circle!

Today though, it’s just me. šŸ™‚

I have been mulling over what my One Little Word for 2016 should be and there’s been one word that has cropped up a lot lately. You may have guessed it from my previous post. It’sĀ  …

ENOUGH

I am ENOUGH.

I have ENOUGH.

I do ENOUGH.

I have had ENOUGH.

As it is Make It Monday, I got busy making this.

Enough my OLW for 2016 by Alison Day Designs

Every year I create a visual reminder of the word I have chosen. A touchstone if you will. In 2011 (my first year of choosing a Word) I chose RELEASE, in 2012 my word was FOCUS, and I liked it so much I kept it for 2013. I found this post (scroll down past the Christmas layout) from the beginning of 2013 with a pretty great art journaling page about being FEARLESS, so perhaps that should have been my Word instead as I kind of lost focus half way through the year! 2014 was all about SIMPLIFYing life, and last year I wanted to take ACTION.

To me, ENOUGH is all about being grateful for what you have. It is about learning to love who you are, where you are, what you are, and why you are how you are. ENOUGH is about stopping the madness. The accumulation for the sake of accumulating. The bad habits, the over scheduling, the acceptance without question of “the norm”. It is about stepping back and asking “why?” It is about moving forward and saying “no more!” ENOUGH encompasses a lot. And yet, is so simple.

Here’s a closer look at each letter and the sentiments I added that help explain my intentions with this word.

This is beautiful. What a great visual reminder. I love how many little details you’ve included, especially tying a sentiment with each of the letters. Is it a 6×8? Will it go into an album, or be displayed in your house?

Thanks Alice. It’s 8.5 x 11 and right now it’s on display in my Scrap Cave but I’ll move it into my OLW album eventually. I may not follow along with Ali’s class any more but I still have a great album that I just keep adding my OLW’s to every year. šŸ™‚
