Second week in a row – can I get a woot! woot! (Okay, it’s only the second week in a row but hey, I’ll take any small victory I can get at the moment!)
Today I have a quick card share. These are the cards I made for my daughter’s dance teachers this year. It’s been quite a year so each teacher also got a bottle of wine. I think they needed it! Continue reading »
Oh it’s been so long since I wrote a Make It Monday post! Have you missed them? I have and I am determined to get back on schedule!
With that being said, today I wanted to share these cute thank you cards for the teacher’s in your lives.
Some of you are already on summer break but up here we’ve got a few more weeks. We seem to be going until the bitter end of June this year! Ugh! The children (and some of the teachers too) are starting to lose focus in the classroom. Hope nobody has anything major planned for June!
If you’re a paper scrapbooker like me, then you probably have a love hate relationship with manufacturers. It’s great that they don’t take away from the gorgeous 12×12″ patterned paper by adding a bar code and other identifying marks onto the paper, and it’s fun that they are now starting to add a patterned strip on the opposite side to said bar code and branding, but … then what? What do you do with all those cute 1/4″ strips of paper?
I keep mine safely in a drawer “for future projects”. You know the type of drawer I’m talking about, right? The type where good intentions go to die?
I’m here to show you how to break out all those strips and use them on a layout! In fact, use them to create the background of a layout. Take a look.
In case you’re not aware, I’m participating in LOAD this month. In fact, I’m one of Alice’s Featured Scrappers! Very exciting!!
I’ve already completed my layouts with the prompts I received in advance (and have scheduled those posts to be released on the right days), but I have been trying to also play along each day. So far I’ve completed 5 (and a half) layouts – not a perfect score but sometimes even fun events like LOAD need to take a back seat to real life. I know, I know! Real life! Whose brilliant idea was that anyway?
This week my friends reminded me about our usual linky party so I’ve got a couple of other sites for you to check out today.
You may have come here from Alice’s site where she is making all your scrapbook dreams come true. Yay! Actually, she’s completely right! LOAD (LayOut ADay) is just around the corner and not only is Alice the Hostess with the Mostest now, but yours truly is one of the featured designers so be sure to check out her post for all the 411!
For my part on today’s hop I am sharing some of my favourite Mother’s Day cards from my archives plus, creating new ones. I’ve got a special kit of goodies coming to me for a contest which means there will be more Mother’s Day cards in my – and your – future! For today though, I’m using my April Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. It’s full of flowery stamps, papers and images which seem pretty perfect for Mom’s all over the world.
Welcome to another Make It Monday here on my blog!
I have been absolutely horrible at getting my fellow Make It Monday blog circle gals organized so I decided to come up with my own graphic for days like today when it’s just me! What do you think? Give me paper and glue and I can come up with something cute 90% of the time but give me pixels and a mouse and … well … let’s just say I’m more of a hands-on kind of gal and leave it at that, shall we?
Moving on …
In my part of the world we are feeling the re-awakening of the world big time. The sun has warmth to it. The trees are turning green again. The grass has been mowed a couple times already. Spring is in full bloom and with it thoughts of summer start to creep in. I know, I know, summer?! But yes, summer!
In honour of that thought, I have made a bright, sunshine yellow card to share with you. Continue reading »
