Clear the Desk #5 - I Will Not Dab! by Alison Day

What’s on Your Desk?

Despite committing to fully completing LOAD218 this month, I signed up for Shimelle’s latest class called Clear The Desk (click the link to check out more info on this class and sign up if you like – NOT an affiliate link). Yes, I am certifiable, and I could combine my LOAD layouts with her class prompts, but I’ve already got a good, and working plan in place for LOAD so wanted to use her class to get other things off my desk and To Do list. It’s been a very busy few days around here!

Usually when I sign up for her classes it’s with the greatest of intentions, but I end up just enjoying watching her videos and I don’t participate. I know, what a waste, right? This time I decided to play along with the prompts and I’ve got 5 more completed layouts under my belt and more stash busted! Winner!

The premise of the class is to clear out products purchased in 2017 to make room for all the new 2018 products that are hitting stores now. I didn’t buy a ton of new product in 2017 – mostly Glitter Girl and I’ve been busting that stash with my Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour Album for LOAD – so I decided to just try to clear out products I love but haven’t put on a page yet.

Here’s my first kit from my stash. Continue reading »

Part 2 of My 10 Card Challenge

Happy Monday!

Today I bring you the second half of my 10 Cards from 1 Kit Challenge and another video. To see Part 1 please visit this post.

My first 5 cards took me awhile to finish. I had a couple extra challenges thrown in there which probably slowed my creative process a bit. Plus I was trying to explain things as I went along. Hard to talk and think at the same time!! For these last 5 cards I decided not to try to talk as I worked and just record a voice over commentary after the fact. I think this format works much better but I’ll let you all have the final word. Let me know in the comments if you like this sped up version better.

Okay, here is Part II – Cards 6 – 10 from the January 2018 monthly card kit from Simon Says Stamp. Continue reading »

Challenged Answered! Part 1

Posted on

Hi everyone and Happy Monday! At least, it’s still Monday where I live …that counts, right?

Last week on my Instagram page I issued a challenge – well, two actually. First I showed off my January 2018 card kit from Simon Says Stamp and challenged myself to make 10 cards from it. Then, I upped the challenge by asking you, my viewers, to suggest types of cards to make! I only had two takers on a chance to receive a free card so … Heather, one of my ScrapHappy Sisters, and Aurela, my friend and neighbour, will be receiving cards from me in answer to their suggestions.

I decided to film the whole process to give you a really good look at just how inspiration strikes me. Today I’m showing you the first 5 cards I’ve made with this kit. Be warned, this is a longer than normal video! Guess I can’t commentate and create at the same time – LOL!  Enjoy! Continue reading »

Crafting On The Go IS Possible!

Hi everyone! Welcome to Saturday!

I am currently on board the Disney Wonder, slowly making my way back to Vancouver. Even though I know how jam packed with activities the cruise companies like to keep us, I decided I might need a tiny bit extra to keep me busy. I’m not a huge fan of trivia games, bridge tournaments or a lot of the other types of activities offered on cruise ships! So, before I left, I packed a kit of supplies to keep me crafting. Christmas Market season is fast approaching so I need to restock my card displays!

Take a look at what I put together with my current Simon Says Stamp card kit, as well as some of my older ones I’ve yet to touch.

It’s hard for me to pack light! At least I’ll have plenty of options, right? Continue reading »

Playing With my Silhouette Cameo

Welcome to the weekend! Woot! Woot!

Weekends are for playing, yes? For me, that means playing with paper and glue.

A couple weeks ago I added my Silhouette Cameo into the mix and created some super cute 3-D items. Check them out.

I thought I’d throw my hat into the ring for Lori Whitlock’s Design Team Call so went to the Silhouette Design Store and downloaded these super cute projects to try. I know that owl goody bag is going to show up at a birthday party soon!

Here’s each project. Continue reading »

Gathering Supplies

What do you get when you combine a prolific scrapbooker with an organized hoarder?

Me!

Oh, and a kit of supplies to create more than one baby album that will be harmonious from opening page to final layout. Check out today’s video to see what I mean.

As you can see I have enough supplies put aside to create all the layouts I need to for my youngest daughter’s First Year Album. And probably enough to do all the tweaks on my other two daughters albums too. Now I just need the time to do it all!

That’s all I have for you today. See you again soon!

Using a Kit to The Last Drop

Make it Monday - pinkWelcome to Make It Monday!

You may be arriving here from Connie’s site. Love birthdays + cakes + card making + things a bit wonky? Then check out her post by clicking here!

Today I want to introduce you to something that I’ve been having fun with this past week. A decision and purchase I made last month that I already know was well worth it and WAY overdue!

I subscribed to another kit club. This time, the Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit. You know you love something when you start using it right away. When you rip into the package, ooh and aah over the contents, and the next thing you know you’ve got a finished card in your hands! When you use it all up.

Kids show their love for your dinner offerings by cleaning their plates and asking for seconds, right? Well, if could have asked for a second helping of the Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit I would have! Continue reading »
