It’s Saturday which – now that we don’t have swimming lessons in the mornings – means Chore Day.
Does anyone else hate motivating their children to help out with the house cleaning? Fancy chore charts aside, somehow ‘motivating’ always turns into ‘yelling really loudly until your children get off their lazy butts to help out’!
Things were going about as smoothly as could be expected this morning, until my almost 12 year old came home. Sigh. She’s not a teen yet but holy moley she can rampage with the best of them! Thinking of teenagers got my creative juices going so I created a little something for my Esty Shop. Continue reading
Why, oh why, is such a chore to get your kids to DO their chores?
The nagging, the constant reminders, the yelling … by the time they actually emerge from the abyss (a.k.a. their bedroom) to state that it’s clean, you’re ready for a double crantini, hold the cranberry juice. Am I right?
As a mother I am always looking for new ways to make it easier on all of us. As a crafter I have the tools and the supplies to make it fun. (Let’s face it, I’ve got the supplies to help the entire planet at this point!)
If you’ve watched this video then you heard me complain of my lighting and camera set up in my new Scrap Cave. Well, I have fixed it!
It’s been a couple weeks since the mayhem that was Marley’s 11th Hawaiian Birthday party. I think I’ve recovered! 16 girls on one house is very loud!!
To continue with the theme of the party – and because I had a ton of flowers left over – I created a little picture frame for the group shot I took during the party. Marley used the back to write a personal thank you note to each of her guests.
Included in each goody bag (and also what prompted the idea in the first place) were these cute little place card holders I found at Pier1 Imports in their Clearance section.
They came in 4 different colours. Cute, right?
This is what it looks like all together.
Now that Marley’s birthday is officially celebrated and over with I can turn my attention to the next one … sigh.
Come back tomorrow for more birthday ideas.
